Dong Energy / Sub-Sea 7– SIRI Caisson Support Project
Provision of collaborative Project Management services with Wilton Engineering responsible for the planning and construction of 6 toe-head ‘clamps’ for Sub-Sea 7 & Dong Energy. Each toe-head comes over 100m long and the support frames all fabricated within the Wilton engineering workshops and contained 24 piping systems each with over 3000 meters of pipework installed, all orbitally welded. The process pipework was designed with complex bends that hydraulic units were sourced and carried out the hydraulic bends in situ. The final tie in welds were then carried out in Scotland ready for each toe-heads transport to the caisson in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
